(1) The administration of the affairs of the department <br /> of parks, recreation and general services. <br />(2) The supervision, planning, management, care and <br /> control of all public parks, gardens and city <br /> beautification. <br />(3) The management and supervision of cemeteries or <br /> public burying grounds. <br />(4) The maintenance and preservation of shade trees and <br /> shrubbery. <br />(5) The supervision, management, care and control of all <br /> recreational facilities of the city, other than <br /> school playgrounds except to such extent as shall be <br /> approved by the school board. <br />(6) The acquisition, operation, maintenance and sale of <br /> all motor vehicles of the city, and supervision of <br /> the operation of the vehicle service center. <br />(7) Supervision of the maintenance, heating, lighting and <br /> janitorial services for all city-owned structures, <br /> except when otherwise directed by the city manager. <br />(8) Supervision of the collection and disposition of <br /> garbage, refuse, trash and bulk refuse by the city. <br />(9) Supervision of the cleaning and sweeping of city <br /> streets. <br />(10) Such other powers and duties as may be assigned by <br /> the city manager. <br /> <br />Sec. 25-30. Authority of director as to athletic facilities <br /> in parks. <br /> <br /> The director shall have charge of the upkeep and control <br />of athletic facilities in city parks. <br /> <br />Sec. 25-65. Advising director of matters submitted for <br /> consideration. <br /> <br /> The parks and recreation commission shall advise the <br />director of all matters submitted to such commission for its <br />consideration. <br /> <br />Sec. 25-94. Fees for use of athletic facilities and <br />recreational centers and special activities. <br /> <br /> (b) Fees for special activities coordinated by or <br />collected by the department of parks, recreation and general <br />services shall be set by the city manager.
