other employees as may be provided by ordinance or by order of <br />the city manager consistent therewith. The department shall <br />engage in such activities and shall have such responsibilities <br />as may be assigned to it under the provisions of this code or <br />by the city manager. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-502. Organization. <br /> <br /> The department of community quality and planning services <br />shall consist of the division of planning and zoning, the <br />division of building standards, and the division of <br />neighborhood quality services. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-503. Powers and duties of city planner. <br /> <br /> The city planner, who shall be appointed by the City <br />Manager, may also serve as director of the department of <br />community quality and planning services. The city planner <br />shall also assist the planning commission in the performance of <br />its duties and shall have such other powers and duties as may <br />be assigned by the city manager. <br /> <br /> 4.
