AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING PORTIONS RANDOLPH STREET AND <br />NASHVILLE AVENUE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority <br />have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter described portions of Randolph Street and Nashville <br />Avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at a meeting held on <br />September 2, 1997 recommended approval of the closing and <br />discontInuing of said portions of Randolph Streen and Nashville <br />Avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of the proposed street closure has been <br />published and mailed to adjoining property owners, in <br />accordance with Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, <br />as amended. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by uhe Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that portions of said Randolph Streeu <br />and Nashville Avenue be closed and vacated as public street, as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the northwest <br /> intersection of Randolph Street (also or <br /> formerly known as Roanoke Street and Henry <br /> Street) and Nashville Avenue; thence along <br /> the western right of way line of Nashville <br /> Avenue North 5° 21' 32" East a distance of <br /> 60.27 feet to a point; thence running South <br /> 84° 40' 40" East a distance of 60 feet to <br /> the eastern right of way line of Nashville <br /> Avenue; thence running along the eastern <br /> right of way line of Nashville Avenue South <br /> 5° 21' 32" West a distance of 162.88 feet <br /> to a point; thence South 87° 15' 41" West a <br /> distance of 60.61 feet to the western right <br /> of way line of Nashville Avenue; thence <br /> running along the western right of way line <br /> of Nashville Avenue North 5° 21' 32" East a <br /> distance of 50.50 feet to the southwest <br /> intersection of Randolph Street (also or <br /> formerly known as Roanoke Avenue and Henry <br /> Street) and Nashville Avenue; thence <br /> running along the southern right of way <br /> line of Randolph Street (also or formerly <br /> known as Roanoke Avenue and Henry Street) <br /> South 87° 15' 41" West a distance of 221.94 <br /> feet to a point; thence running North 16° <br /> 49' 44" West a distance of 61.86 feet <br /> to the northern right of way line of <br /> Randolph Street (also or formerly known as <br /> Roanoke Avenue and Henry Street); thence <br /> running along the northern right of way <br /> <br /> <br />
