Secs. 37-224--37-245. Reserved. ARTICLE IV. TOW TRUCKS Sec. 37-246. Violations of article. Unless otherwise specifically provided, a violation of any provision of this article shall constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor. Sec. 37-247. Identification. Any person engaged in the business of providing the services of one or more wreckers for hire or used to tow, transport or move motor vehicles on public streets or on or from private property by way of streets, shall display the name and address or telephone number of the business on both sides of the tow truck in letters large enough to be readily legible, but in no case, less than one inch in height. Sec. 37-248. Duty to notify police of removal of vehicle. Prior to or simultaneously with the removal of any vehicle by a tow-truck operator or any person or entity repossessing any vehicle as allowed by law, the operator of the tow truck or the person or entity repossessing the vehicle shall notify the police dispatcher of such removal. Such notification shall include the following information: The complete license number and state of issue; The year of expiration of such license; The complete vehicle identification number; The make, model and color of the vehicle; The person or entity requesting the removal; and Any other information that may be required by the police. If any of the information provided is found to be incorrect, the tow-track operator, or person or entity responsible for the removal of the vehicle, upon notification by the police, shall provide the correct information. This provision shall not apply to disabled vehicles towed at the request of the vehicle's owner. In all matters where vehicles are towed or removed at the request or direction of any person or entity other than an agency of the city, the city shall have no liability for any cost associated with such removal. 22
