Secs. 37-224--37-245. Reserved. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE IV. TOW TRUCKS <br /> <br />Sec. 37-246. Violations of article. <br /> <br /> Unless otherwise specifically provided, a violation of any provision of this article shall <br />constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-247. Identification. <br /> <br /> Any person engaged in the business of providing the services of one or more wreckers for <br />hire or used to tow, transport or move motor vehicles on public streets or on or from private <br />property by way of streets, shall display the name and address or telephone number of the <br />business on both sides of the tow truck in letters large enough to be readily legible, but in no <br />case, less than one inch in height. <br /> <br /> Sec. 37-248. Duty to notify police of removal of vehicle. <br /> <br /> Prior to or simultaneously with the removal of any vehicle by a tow-truck operator or any <br /> person or entity repossessing any vehicle as allowed by law, the operator of the tow truck or the <br /> person or entity repossessing the vehicle shall notify the police dispatcher of such removal. Such <br /> notification shall include the following information: <br /> <br /> The complete license number and state of issue; <br /> <br /> The year of expiration of such license; <br /> <br /> The complete vehicle identification number; <br /> <br /> The make, model and color of the vehicle; <br /> <br /> The person or entity requesting the removal; and <br /> <br /> Any other information that may be required by the police. <br /> <br /> If any of the information provided is found to be incorrect, the tow-track operator, or <br /> person or entity responsible for the removal of the vehicle, upon notification by the police, shall <br /> provide the correct information. This provision shall not apply to disabled vehicles towed at the <br /> request of the vehicle's owner. <br /> <br /> In all matters where vehicles are towed or removed at the request or direction of any <br /> person or entity other than an agency of the city, the city shall have no liability for any cost <br /> associated with such removal. <br /> 22 <br /> <br /> <br />
