Sec. 37-163. Condition. <br /> <br /> All taximeters shall be kept in accurate and proper condition and repair and sufficiently <br />lighted when in use so that the figures thereon shall be plainly visible to the passengers therein. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-164. Identification light. <br /> <br /> Whenever a taxicab is engaged there is to be conspicuously displayed an identification <br />light connected to the taximeter, operated mechanically by throwing the meter flag and which <br />shall show light when the meter is in operation, Such light shall be located, and in such form, <br />color and size as shall be prescribed by the chief of police. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-165. Operating broken meter. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful to operate a taxicab with a broken taximeter. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-166. Police to be notified when meter broken; withdrawal of taxicab from service. <br /> <br /> If any taximeter shall break down or get out of repair, notice of such breakdown shall be <br />given immediately to the police department, and such taxicab shall be immediately withdrawn <br />from service. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-167. Police to be notified when meter repaired; return of taxicab to service. <br /> <br /> When any taximeter has been repaired, notice thereof shall be given to the police <br />department. The taxicab shall not be returned to service until the police have approved the <br />repairs to the taximeter and authorized its return to service. <br /> <br />Sees. 37-168--37-215. EMPLOYEE HAULERS <br /> <br /> For the purposes of this article the term "employee hauler" shall mean any person <br />operating a passenger bus for transportation of persons employed by one (1) common employer <br />from various points within the city to their place of employment within the city. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-217. Compliance with article. <br /> <br /> The operation of passenger buses by employee haulers upon the streets of the city shall be <br />subject to the conditions, regulations and restrictions set forth in this article.
