any crime of violence or any offense involving the use or possession of a weapon. <br /> (f) Conviction of any felony involving an illegal controlled substance. <br /> (g) Conviction of any felony involving a crime against property within the previous <br /> ten (10) years. <br /> (h) Conviction of any crime involving moral turpitude within the previous five <br /> (5) years. <br /> (i) Conviction of reckless driving or of driving under the influence of alcohol <br /> or any narcotic drug or any other self-administered intoxicant or drug. <br /> (j) Conviction of any fetony or two or more Class 1 or Class 2 misdemeanors within <br /> the previous eighteen (18) months. <br /> (k) Failure to have each public vehicle in operation a period of ninety (90) <br /> consecutive days with the certificate year. <br /> <br /> The chief of police, when he or she deems it to be in the best interest of the public health, <br />safety or general welfare, may revoke a certificate. The owner or holder of a certificate shall be <br />notified in writing whenever it is deemed necessary to suspend a certificate. Whenever a <br />certificate is revoked, the offending vehicle shall be ineligible for further issuance of a new <br />certificate of public convenience and necessity. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-72. Same - Return of certificate. <br /> <br /> After revocation of a certificate of public convenience and necessity, and notice of the <br />revocation, the certificate shall be returned to the chief of police within twenty-four (24) hours. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-73. Issuance or refusal; fee. <br /> <br /> If the chief of police shall determine that any applicant is of the age of eighteen (18) years <br />or older, morally fit and having knowledge of the traffic laws of the state and city, the chief of <br />police, upon the applicant's payment of a fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00), shall issue to such <br />applicant a certificate of public convenience and necessity. If the chief of police is not satisfied as <br />to the qualifications and fitness of the applicant to possess a public vehicle, he or she shall refuse <br />to issue such certificate. <br /> <br />Sees. 37-74--37-90. Required. <br /> <br /> (a) No person shall drive a public vehicle in the city unless that person has a current <br /> permit to do so issued pursuant to this division.
