(b) Conviction of any felony involving an illegal controlled substance. <br />(c) Conviction of any felony involving a crime against property within the previous <br /> ten (10) years. <br />(d) Conviction of any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude within the previous <br /> five (5) years. <br />(e) Conviction of any felony or of two or more Class 1 or Class 2 misdemeanors or <br /> any within the previous eighteen (18) months. <br /> <br /> The chief of police, when he or she deems it to be in the best interest of the public health, <br />safety or general welfare, may deny an application for a new certificate or for a renewal. The <br />applicant shall be notified in writing whenever it is deemed necessary, to deny an application for <br />a new certificate or for renewal of a certificate previously issued. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-65. Limitation on number. <br /> <br /> The number of taxicabs to be authorized and for which certificates, of public convenience <br />and necessity may be granted shall not be more than sixty-two (62); provided, however, that in <br />cases of emergency and on special occasions when convenience and necessity require, the holder <br />of a certificate issued pursuant to the provisions of this division who operates duly licensed <br />taxicabs in other cities may bring into the city taxicabs from such other city during such <br />emergency or special occasions when so authorized by the chief of police. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-66. Expiration; renewal. <br /> <br /> All certificates of public convenience and necessity issued under this division shall expire <br />on December thirtieth following the date of issuance and shall be renewable annually thereafter. <br />Failure to renew the certificate of public convenience and necessity by the date of expiration <br />shall render that certificate available for issuance to another vehicle. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-67. Personal nature of certificate. <br /> <br /> Each certificate of public convenience and necessity shall be issued subject to the <br />conditions that the public vehicle be operated only by the person to whom such certificate is <br />issued or his bona fide employee, and that such public vehicle not be loaned, rented, assigned or <br />transferred to any other person. In the event such certificate is used contrary to any such <br />condition, or in the event of nonuse of the certificate for a period of thirty (30) days, the chief of <br />police may revoke such certificate. <br /> <br />Sec. 37-68. Suspension generally. <br /> <br /> Any certificate of public convenience and necessity issued under this division may be <br />suspended by the chief of police for a period of up to ninety (90) days for any of the following <br />grounds occurring in connection with the certificate: <br /> 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
