1998-47 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION OF PONDEROSA STREET, PHILIPPINE STREET, AN UN-NAMED STREET AND AN UN- NAMED ROAD IN THAT AREA OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH KNOWN AS HATTONVILLE. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to close and vacate a portion of Ponderosa Street, Philippine Street, an Un-Named Street and an Un-Named Road as hereafter described; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at a meeting held on July 7,1998, recommended approval of the closing and vacating of said streets and roads; and WHEREAS, notice of the proposed closure has been given adjoining property owners in accordance with Section 15.2-2006 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia that the portion of Ponderosa Street, Phillipine Street, an Un-Named Street and Un -Named Road be closed and vacated as public streets, and rights of way as follows: PONDEROSA STREET All that certain portion of Ponderosa Street located in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, from its intersection with the northerly right of way line of CSX (Seaboard Coastline) Railroad northwardly to a point 197.62 feet south of the southerly right of way of Airline Boulevard. PHILIPPINE STREET All that certain street designated as Philippine Street located in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia from its intersection with the western right of way line of Ponderosa Street westwardly to its point of termination. UN-NAMED STREET Ail that certain un-named street located in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, which said street is located in an area between Airline Boulevard to north, CSX (Seaboard Coastline) Railroad to the south and the eastern right of way line of Ponderosa Street easterly from Ponderosa Street to it point of termination.
