AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 22 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTION 22-570 <br />THEREOF PERTAINING TO EXCESSIVE ON-STREET PARKING, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that <br />Section 22-570 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, be amended and <br />reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 22-570. Parking for more than forty-eight hours. <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to leave or cause to be left any <br />automobile or vehicle for more than forty-eight (48) hours in any public street. If any <br />such person falls to remove the automobile or vehicle within twenty-four (24) hours after <br />being notified so to do by any police officer, then every day which shall elapse thereafter <br />without such removal shall constitute a separate offense. <br /> <br /> (b) The provisions of subsection (a) shall not apply in the Olde Towne Historic <br />District provided that the automobile or vehicle displays a valid Olde Towne parking <br />district decal or sticker. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on <br />July 28, 1998. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
