AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 6 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988), BY AMENDING SECTION 6-65 THEREOF <br />PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF "NO WAKE" ZONES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 6-65 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) <br />be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 6-65. Speed limits for motorboats. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person operating any motorboat to pass under any <br />bridge in the city at a speed in excess of five (5) miles per hour. No motorboats shall be <br />operated in any area designated as a "No Wake" area by the city manager at such speed as <br />to create more than a minimum wake. <br /> <br /> No person shall be convicted of violating this section until appropriate signs <br />indicating the speed limit of five (5) miles per hour or "No Wake" have been posted so as <br />to give notice of such restrictions. The city manager is hereby authorized to have posted <br />such signs as may be required by this section. <br /> <br />2.
