SeDtember 14, 1993 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, September 14, 1993, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. Clemons, Job_n H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *James C. Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. 93-345 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 1993, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 93-347 - The following item was discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Family and Medical Leave Policy Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Epperson, into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: to go (1) Consideration of the use of publicly held real property citywide as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); (2) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by staff pertaining to a matter of probable litigation regarding the ABEX matter, and a contract matter with ESPN as permitted under Subsection (A) (7); (3) Consideration of the acquisition of real property for public use in the southern portion of the City as permitted under Subsection (A)(3). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the i~unediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters .lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
