On motion of Mr. Stewa~rt (R.E.B.), the report of the Oommittee was adopted, and
by the following vote:
Ayes~ Brooks, Hutchins, Oast, Smith,
Stewart (J.R.), Stewsmt (R.E.B.), White, ?.

The following communications were read from the 0ity Manager:
1st. #On August ?th, 192~,
a limb fell from a tree on Oou~t St. opposite the N~nicipal Building, and damaged an automo-
bile belonging to Mr. Everett Skeeter, to the extent of $25.00, actual cost. As I had given
instructions to have T~mls tree removed, acting rather hastily, ! directed that the damage
be repaired and tha~ ~he cost be charged against Mr. S. J. Allen, Sup~. of Streets. Mr. J.F.
Weaver, Oity Engineer, has, however, investigated the matter and finds that due to a storm,
there were at this time ~ number of trees in dsmger~as condition, particularly on Watson
and ~it Streets, where trees had actually fallen on houses. These cases had to be attend-
ed t~ immediately. The City is also dependent on borrowing a carry-log aud when Mr. Allen
applied for the carry-log, he $ould not,get it for a few ~ays. Hence the delay in carrying
out my instructions.

Unde these conditions, I think Mr. Allen should be excused and I recommend that
be allowed to pay for the repairs to Mr. Skeeter's car from the appropriation for Street
cleaning.#

On motion, the oom~mication was referred to the Finance Committee.
