<br />meeting, August 13, 1973 and minutes of the regular meeting, August 14, 1973, to be
<br />approved as received, was adopted by the following vote:

<br /> 73-373 Mayor Barnes presented the fol!~ing resolution to Cub Scout Pack 213 of
<br />St. Andrew's United Methodist Church~which was received by Webelos Den Leader Charles
<br />Coulbourn:

<br /> "WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 213 ~f St. Andrew's United Methodist Church at
<br />Portsmouth Boulevard and Elmhurst Lane has been recognized by the Boy Scouts of
<br />America through its national organ .Scouting Magazine in an article titled "Weblos
<br />With]]~ir" appearing in the September 1973 issue; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this recognition and the dedicated civic work upon which it is based
<br />reflects well upon our community.
<br />
<br />NOW, THERB~OBJ~; B~TIT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Portsmouth:
<br />
<br />That, it extends to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church and to leaders of
<br />Scouting programs chartered there an expression of appreciation for the dedicated
<br />youth work which lies behind this honor; and
<br />
<br />That, it extends to the Scouts in Pack and Troop 213 a hope that this HOnor
<br />will spur them on in their program work as it provides an example for others
<br />in the molding of good citizens; and
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes
<br />of the City Council, and that a copy be presented to St. Andrew's United Methodist
<br />Church for its records." ~

<br /> 73-363 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first
<br />reading. This closes a portion of Griffin Street between the eastern right-of-way
<br />line of Fifth Street and the right~of-way of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Company.
<br />
<br /> John J. Kelly Corporation and Rank Associates have requested this closing. It
<br />has been approved by the Planning Commission and the report of the viewers is attached
<br />hereto."

<br /> On motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Smith, the following ordinance was'ap-
<br />proved on first reading, and by the following vote:

<br />This closes a portion of Williamsburg Avenue between North Street and London Boulevard.

<br /> On motion 6f Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. King, the followingcordinance was
