<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, the minutes of the called meeting of
<br />September 12, 1978; minutes of the regular meeting of September 12, 1978, to be approved as
<br />received~, was. adopted~by unanimous vote.

<br /> 78-306 - The following ordinance ~approved on first reading at the regular mae~ing of
<br />September 12, 1978, was taken up and read:

<br />'tAN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $28,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF OVERHEAD ELECTRIC, PNEUMATIC SUPPLY AND EXHAUST SYSTEM
<br />FOR THE CITY GARAGE."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopted, and by
<br />the following, vote:

<br />The following reports from the City Manager were presented:
<br />
<br /> 78-318 - "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $130,000
<br />from the Capital Improvements Fund for Upgrading recreation facilities on a city-wide
<br />basis.
<br />
<br /> This appropriation will provide the necessary funds to upgrade recreation facilities
<br />on a city-wide basis as outlined in the 1978-79 Capital Improvements Program. These
<br />funds have been~al'!ocated to communities on the basis of population with the balance
<br />being,used for district-wide and city-wide facilities. The Forum in each community
<br />has participate~ ~nl. the~Setection of the projects for their particular area. Of the total
<br />appropriation, approximately $65,000 will be utilized for city-wide projects and the
<br />remaining~$6S,O00 has been allocated by district to address needs as outlined by the Porum
<br />in the ~istrict. The City Manager recommends adoption on first readings"

<br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Early, the following ordinance was approved
<br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote.

<br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $150,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br /> .UPGRADING RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ON A CITY-WIDE BASIS."

<br /> 78-519 - "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to
<br />from the Capital Improvements Fund for upgrading water and sewer
<br />of gravity sewers.

<br /> This appropriation will provide $275,000 as outlined in the 1978~79 Capital Improvements
<br />Program for thaupgrading of the water and sewer systems on a system wide basis. In addition
<br />go the upgrading the appropriation includes $45,000 for gravity sewer extensions on Leigh
<br />Road from Ballard to Airline; and, $25,000 gravity sewer extensions on Adamson Street from
<br />Ballard to Elmhurst Lane. The City Manager recommends adoptioion on first reading."

<br /> On mot.ion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following ordinance was approved
<br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote:
<br />
<br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO APEROPRIATE $345,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br /> UPGRADING THE WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM AND FOR THE EXTENSION OF GRAVITY SEWERS."
<br />
<br /> ?8-320 -"Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $?1,?00
<br /> from the Capital Improvements Program for miscellaneous capital projects included in
<br /> the miscellaneous category in the 1978-79 Capital Improvements Program.
<br />
<br /> This~apPropriation will provide the necessary funds for the miscellaneous projects
<br />included in the miscellaneous category of the Capital Improvements Program. Capital projects
<br />include such i~ems as replacement of Civic Center exterior steps, replacement of the
<br />guard house at the Public Works Compound, modifications to the Social Services Building,
<br />and a new ~roof on the Solid Waste Collection Building. Each of the projects were included
<br />with an estimated cost and as design specifications and bids are received this cost will
<br />be compared to the original estimate prior to awarding the contract. The City Manager
<br />recommends adoption on first reading."
