0.42 August 10, 1999 Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Benn, to adopt the following resolUtion, and was adopted by the following vote:, "A RESOLUTION APPOINTING TWO COMMISSIONERS AND TWO ALTERNATES TO THE TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT COMMISSIO~N OF HAMPTON ROADS. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Dr. James W. Holley, III, Mayor of the City of PortsmOuth, and City Councilman Cameron C. Pitts be appointed commissioners of the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads and the City Manager Ronald W. Massie and Robert P. Creecy be appointed as alternates to the Commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the commissioners and the alternates shall serve in their respective positions at the pleasure of the City Council." Ayes: Berm, Griffin, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst ~' .. Louis Whitehead, 4415 County Street,, Portsmouth Central Labor Council President, spoke in regardS to the City Attorney s office hiring an outside attorney's office in Norfolk and regarding public safety employees pensions. 2. Mark A. Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 363 Middle Street, spoke on citizen involvement and elaboration by Council on agenda items. In favor of televised meetings. Suggested public discussions on economic development projects for citizens to participate in. 3. Elizabeth J. Holland, 221 Mohican Ddve, spoke on concerns with new business going into the Ebony Showcase building.
