<br />(a)
<br />
<br />To the owner or the operator of a motor vehicle who resides, owns real
<br />property or has a leasehold interes~ in real property within the area
<br />where parking is so restricted and to be limited to one (1) permit for
<br />each vehicle owned or used by the person and described in the application
<br />or amendment to its submitted by that person.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the ordinance to be approved on
<br />reading, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br />(g) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CITY CODE, SECTION 40-48[4) RELATING TO DIMENSIONAL
<br />

<br />REQUIREMENTS FOR DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING LOTS.
<br />
<br />"The City Engineer may grant a variance of any one of the above dimensional
<br />requirements to alleviate a single demonstrable hardship. If more than one
<br />varlane is sought, the Planning Commission may approve such variance."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance to be approved on
<br />first reading, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
<br /> Mayor Davis relinquished the Chair to Vice Mayor Holley for the following Item:
<br /> (h) DOWNTOWN D-1 ZONING DISTRICT PROPOSAL: Pursuant to ideas and concepts contained in

<br />Minnie C._Marks, 508 South Street, spoke in support of D-1 Zoning.
<br />
<br />Claude Sciatdone, Attorney, 320 London Boulevard, spoke in favor.
<br />
<br />Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, to be approved on first reading.
<br />
<br /> Substitute motion of~Mr. Barnes~-and seconded by Mr. Elliott, to postpone D-1 Zoning as
<br />outlined, and the City Attorney to draft additional requirements in form of a proposed ordinan,
<br />and to be presented at the next Council meeting (June 26, 1979), and~was adopted by unanimous
<br />vote. (6-0)

<br />Shipyard of which now has diagonal parking, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
