<br />the following members present, and on the following item:

<br /> 79-200 Public Hearing on Use Permit 79-9 Petition of
<br />Owner, by Robert Dearth, Vice President of Operations.
<br />
<br />The following citizens spoke:

<br />
<br /> Robert Dearth, Vice President of Operations, representing ITT Gwaltney, Inc., spoke
<br />concerning the operations of the plant, statin~ that 40% for processing, 40% for dry storage
<br />and warehousing, and the other 20% for research and development, data center and office space.
<br />
<br /> George Bastes, 300 Park Road, representing the Industrial Development Authority, spoke
<br />in support of the petition.
<br />
<br /> the Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the issuance of a conditional
<br />use permit with the following conditions:
<br />
<br />1. Food Processing - provided no animals or fowl are slaughtered on these premises
<br /> as part of the process.
<br />2. Laboratory for Research and Testing - in matters related to food processing.
<br />3. Offices related to plant administration.
<br />4. Cold ~-~d Dry Storage within and adjacent to the structure as related to its
<br /> food processing function.
<br /> S. l!vo Signs as authorized in an M-1-R zoning district.
<br />6. Traffic created by this food processing plant shall enter and leave exclusively
<br /> via Elmhurst Lane.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to cdn~ur'.in the~commendation of the
<br />Planning Commission, UP 79-9 was approved on first reading, and by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br /> 79-201 Public Hearing on rezoning petitions and use permit applications and amendments
<br />to the City Code:
<br />
<br />(a) Zoning Petition Z 79-5 Petition of William C. George, Jr.
<br /> by Attorney Wayne Sprinkle.
<br />The following letter received from J. Wayne Sprinkle, Attorney,
<br />
<br />and Gilbert R.
<br />was presented:

<br /> "Please be advised that on behalf of my clients, William C. George, Jr., and Gilbe~R.
<br />Bailey, that they do not desire to proceed any further on their zoning change request on the
<br />abbve property. Their residential zoning classification at present is fine with them. There-
<br />fore, there is no need for city council to take up their zoning request."

<br /> of the Salvation Army.

<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray~ to concur in the recommendation of
<br />the Planning Commission, UP 79-6 was approved on first reading, and by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br /> (e) Use Permit 79-8 - Petition of Preston S. Colson, by John T. Reid, Pastor.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Holloy, to concur in the recommendation of the
