Saunders Early, Jr., <br />Home Center, was presented: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />of Robbie'~ <br /> <br /> "this corportion has leased from~the present owners the abandoned Seaboard Coast Lines <br />spur line right of way which extends from the main line at Halifax Street to the property <br />occupied by RobBie's Home Centers. The terms of the lease require the property be trans- <br />ferred with the rail and ties in place. <br /> <br /> The rail and ties are not required for my business or the proposed use of the additional <br />property. I am advised that the City can make use of the rail and ties in constructing a <br />siding at the Frederick Boulevard compound for delivery of sand, stone and other street <br />maintenance materials to City property. The estimated value of the rail and ties is $1,080.00 <br /> <br /> I hereby offer fo donate to the City the rail and ties located on the property extending <br />from the west side of Halif~Avenue on to the existing property of Robbie's Home Centers. The <br />City will be responsible for removal of the rail and ties as well as for replacement Jnd <br />leveling of existing fill dirt, ballast stone ineorder to return the property to its current <br />condition. The City of Portsmouth, its officers and agents are hereby granted permission to <br />enter onto the subject property for the purpose of removing~the rail and ties as herein des- <br />cribed~ The.right or,entry shall expire when the work of removal has been completed. <br /> <br /> I would request the.
