Williamson, 492I Wycliff Road, spoke concerning Amendment #11 referring <br />to the Holiday Inn, opposing people from out of the city to comeintothe city and take over <br />an ongoing piece of property. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Gray, the following resolution was adopted, <br />and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. I1 TO THE CRAWFORD URBAN REDEVELOPMENT <br />PROJECT VA. R-S3." R-~ <br /> <br />resented: <br /> <br />eading to appropriate <br />eation Center as part <br />9. <br /> <br />$610,000 from <br />of the Mount <br /> <br /> As part of the City's commitment of public improvement costs for the Mount Hermon <br />Redevelopment and Conservation Project a recreation ceqter was included in the original <br />cooperative agreement. This appropriation provides th~ necessary funds for the construction <br />of a recreation center and gymnasium combination on the former Virginia Iron and Metal site. <br />This appropriation includes the contract price for the building and gymnasium, as well as, <br />archftect and engineering fees, and $63,000 for furnishings. Funding for this project is a <br />combination of General Revenue ShariJg Funds and Genergl Obligations Bonds. The City Manager <br />recommends adoptiqn on first reading. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by ~nanfm0~s ~ote'~c~ <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $610,000 <br />THE MOUNT HERMON RECREATION CENTER AS <br />AND CONSERVATION PROJECT." <br /> <br />FROM THE CA~ITAI IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />PART OF THEg{OUNTi:HERMON REDEVELOPMENT <br /> <br /> MstiOn of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, thst the contract to be awarded to G. L. <br />Cline & So~s, being the lowest responsible bid, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 79-406 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $224,000 from <br />the Capital Improvements Fund for the repair and renovation of public buildings, both City <br />and School Board. <br /> <br /> This appropriation will provide appropriations of $200,000 for major repairs to public <br />school buildings and $24,000 for repairs to city public buildings. The attached list <br />furnished by the Superintendent of Schools outlines the proposed repairs and improvements <br />to be mgde by the School Board with the requested funds. The Capital Improvements Program <br />for '1979/80 has allocated $1S0,000 for repairs to public buildings. Additional funds from <br />prior Capital Programs that were allocated and not appropriated have been included for the <br />balance of the $74,000. The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading. <br /> <br /> <br />
