<br />MOORING DOLPHIN FOR THE LIGHTSHIP MUSEUM."

<br /> 80-58- Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $30,000 from the
<br />Capital improvements Fund for survey control of the City.
<br />
<br /> This appropriation authorizes the remaining funds for completion of the survey
<br />control by the Engineering Department for the entire City. The project was started in 1978 and
<br />this appropriation will provide the necessary funds to complete the survey control system for
<br />the entire City. The sections of the City that have been completed have proven to be invaluable
<br />as a time saver when survey operations are required for projects in those areas. The City
<br />Manager recommends adoption on first reading.

<br /> 80-59- Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $72,500 from the
<br />Capital Improvements Fund for design and-engineering costs for Cedar Lane and West Norfolk
<br />Road; Twin Pines Road widening; and, Glasgow Street and Potomac and Rodman Avenues.

<br /> This appropriation will fund $2?,500 for Cedar Lane and West Norfolk Road;
<br />$20,000 for Glasgow Street, Potomac and Rodman Avenues; and $25,000 for Twin Pines Road
<br />widening. The funds for this appropriation will be funJed from $47,500 prior authorization
<br />Potomac and Glasgow; and, $25,000 in the 1979-80 CIP for Twin Pines Road widening. This
<br />authorization will allow the Engineering Department to proceed with final design of these
<br />projects including specifications for bid. The City Manager recommends adoption on first
<br />reading.

<br />Capital Improvements Fund for constructing the solar heating project at James Hurst
<br />School.

<br /> The total project cost for the solar heating at James Hurst Elementary School
<br />is $241,066. The City has previously appropriated $33,535 for this project. This appropriation,
<br />$207,531, will be funded by the Department of Energy (federal) for $136,461 and the local share
<br />which-amounts to $71,070. This ordinance appropriates the City's additional share as well as the
<br />federal government's. Funding of the local share referred to the City Manager under agenda
<br />item #80-45 as well as the request from the School Board for $10,000 under agenda item =79-225.
<br />The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading.

<br /> 80-61- Consideration of an ordinance amending the City Code by amending Sections 23-182.2
<br />and 23-193.1 thereto, pertaining to making portions of K%ng Street and Water Street one way.
<br />
<br /> This ordinance amends the City Code by adding Water Street between Columbia and
<br />King Streets as one way north, tt also adds King Street between Water Street and Crawford
<br />Street as one way west. This amendment is in accordance with the proposed traffic patterns
<br />included in the downtown waterfront plan. The City Manager recommends adoption.
