00o <br /> <br />February 26, 1980 <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 80-52 On motion of <br />approved on first reading <br />following vote: <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT TO WILLIAM C. <br />WAREHOUSE AND YARD AND A WHOLESALING AND JOBBING <br />CORNER OF HARTFCRD STREET AND FLORIDA AVENUE. <br /> <br /> Beamer, Early, Gray, Holley, Oast, Davis <br /> <br />Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the Following resolution <br />at the Public Hearing of February 11, 1980, was adopted by the <br /> <br /> CREECY TO OPERATE A STORAGE <br /> ESTABLISHMENT AT THE SOUTHWEST <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, William C. Creecy, made an application pursuant to Section 40-71 (b), Code <br />of the City of Portsmouth, 1973, as amended, to the granting of a use permit as hereinafter- <br />described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things requi~ed to be <br />done in connection with said application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the granting of said use permit. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />(1) That the use for which the use permit hereinafter-described is sought: <br /> <br /> (a) Will not adversely affect the health and safety of persons residing <br />.working in the neighborhood of the proposed use; <br /> <br /> (b) Will not be detrimental to the public use or injurious to property <br />in the neighborhood; and <br /> <br />and <br />improvements <br /> <br />(c) Will be in accord with the purposes of the Zoning Chapter of the City Code. <br /> <br /> (2) That William C. Creecy is hereby granted a use permit pursuant to Section 40-71(b) <br />of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, .1973, as amended, to operate a storage warehouse <br />and yard and a wholesaling and jobbing establishment on property described hereafter subject <br />to conditions set fcrth in paragraph 3 of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Beginning at the southwest corner of Hartford Street and Florida Avenue; <br />thence south along the west right-of-way of Florida Avenue 240 feet; thence <br />west 140 feet to the line of an alley; thence north along said line 240 feet <br />to the south right-of-way of Hartford Street; thence east along said right-of- <br />way 140 feet to the point of origin. <br /> <br /> (3) This use permit is approved subject to the following condition: <br /> <br /> (1) The use permit will be revoked unless building permits are issued <br />under way within one (1) year. <br /> <br /> Ayes: Barnes, Beamer, Early, Gray, Holley, Oast, Davis <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br />and construction <br /> <br /> 80-52 - On m6tion'of,Mr;~Beamer and seconded by Mr. Gray, <br />approved on first reading at the Public Hearing of February 11, <br />the following vote: <br /> <br />the following resolution <br /> 1980., was adopted and by <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMI.T TO MT. OLIVET BAPTIST CHURCH TO CONSTRUCT <br />AND OPERATE A CHURCH AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER ON LAND BOUNDED BY KING STREET <br />ON THE NORTH, APPLE STREET ON THE EAST, COUNTY STREET ON THE SOUTH AND PHOEBUS <br />STREET ON THE WEST. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS,~Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, by Chairman of the Deacon Board, Jasper L.
