October 12, 1999 <br /> <br />.0?3 <br /> <br />2. Coren'e Robertson, 1244 Summit Avenue~ spoke on conditions on Summit Avenue <br /> in Brighton area regarding promised repairs to a dip in the street, drainage <br /> problems, trash and garbage on the street. Complaint with high water bill and <br /> storm water bill for one person. <br /> <br /> 3. Lassie McAIston, 1237 Portsmouth Boulevard, spoke on high water bill for one <br /> person. Fledges between Oak and Elm Streets are not taken care of. If they are <br /> not going to be taken care of proPerly, they shoUld be cut down. <br /> <br />Linda Kuhlman, 712 Potomac Avenue, spoke on bulk trash and old windows that <br />were picked-up after a call to City Manager's office, but did not pick-up trash across <br />the street. Condition of Potomac Avenue with cave-ins. Refrigerator behind a <br />beauty salon on Hartford Street has been there for months. A television on <br />Cambridge Avenue was there for weeks and children demolished it.. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or <br />consider the following: <br /> <br /> - to discuss the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose, as <br />authorized by paragraph A.3, with the subject properties being in downtown and <br />southwest areas of the City. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 9:17 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes p repa r~.d-.~y: <br />Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Dr. Ja'rffes W.
