October 26, 1999 <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />· Approval of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to convey seven parcels of <br />land and associated easements to the Virginia Department of Transportation for the <br />Pinners Point Interchange Project. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· These parcels and easements are necessary for the construction of the Pinners <br />Point Interchange Project. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />· These non-taxable City properties would be conveyed to VDOT for a price of <br />$13,305. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CERTAIN <br />PROPERTY AND EASEMENTS TO THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PINNERS POINT INTERCHANGE PROJECT. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the <br />City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey to the Commonwealth of <br />Virginia ( Virginia Department of Transportation) the following described properties and <br />temporary easements as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Parcel 002 - Being as shown on Sheet 5 of the plans for Route 164 <br />State Highway Project 0164-124-FO4 RW201 and beginning on the east (right) <br />side of existing MLK Freeway, (Rte 58) survey and construction centerline from <br />the lands now or formerly belonging to Frederick I. and Edith B. Thomason <br />opposite approximate Station 16+19 to the existing south right of way line of <br />existing Ramp "H" opposite approximate Station 19+48 and containing 0.197 <br />acre more or less, land. Together with the temporary right and easement to use <br />the additional areas shown as being required for the proper construction of cut <br />and/or fill slopes and a temporary sediment control basin, containing 0.289 acre, <br />more or less. <br /> <br /> Parcel 003 - Being, as shown on Sheets 5, 6 & 7 of the plans for <br />Route 164, State Highway Project 0164-124-F04, RW201 and beginning on the <br />east (right) side of existing MLK Freeway (Rte 58) Survey and construction <br />centerline from the existing north right of way line of existing Ramp "H" opposite <br />approximate Station 20+78 to the lands now or formerly belonging to the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia opposite approximate Station 32+60 and containing <br />0.810 acre, more or less, land; also beginning on the west (left) side of Booker <br />Street construction centerline from a point in the lands of the Grantor opposite <br />approximate Station 31 +73 to the lands now or formerly belonging to the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia opposite approximate Station 32+11 and containing <br />0.002 acre, more or less. <br /> <br /> Parcel 004 - Being as shown on Sheet 7 of the plans for Route 164, <br />State Highway project 0164-124-FO4, RW201 and beginning on the east (right) <br />side of MLK Freeway (Rte 58) survey, and construction centerline from the lands <br />now or formerly belonging to the Commonwealth of Virginia opposite <br />approximate Station 33+ 17 to the existing south right of way line of present <br />Roberta Street opposite approximate Station 34+02 and containing 0.019 acre, <br />more or less. <br /> <br /> Parcel 010 - Being as shown on Sheet 7D of the plans for Route <br />164, State Highway Project 0164-124-FO4, RW201 and beginning on the west <br />(left) side of Quebec Street construction centerline from the existing, north right <br />of way line of present Quebec Street opposite approximate Station 10+60 to the <br />lands now or formerly belonging to the Commonwealth of Virginia opposite <br />approximate Station I1 +38 and containing 0.036 acre, more or less. <br /> <br /> <br />
