262 <br /> <br /> (c) Consideration of an ordinance to amend Section 35-157 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, pertaining to increasing the restaurant food tax. <br /> This ordinance will increase the restaurant food tax from the current 3% rate to 4% of <br />the restaurant food bill. <br /> <br /> (d) Consideration of an ordinance to amend Section 35-178 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia,1973, pertaining to increasing the transient occupancy tax. ~ <br /> <br /> This ordinance will increase the transient occupancy tax from the current 3% rate to <br />4% of the amount paid for lodging. <br /> <br /> (e) Consideration of an ordinance to amend Section 35-114 (c) of the Code of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, pertaining to the utility services tax. <br /> <br /> Ibis ordinance will increase the maximum amount on which utility service taxes are <br />charged for commercial establishments. In addition the ordinance reduces the emergency drought surcharge by <br />12~, from the current rate of 24¢ per 1,000 gallons to 12~ per $1,000 gallons of water sup- <br />plied. Corresponding increases in the meter rates for water and corresponding decreases in <br />the emergency drought surcharge are included within the ordinance for consumers outside the <br />City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> (b) Consideration of an ordinance to amend Sections 38-77 (a) and (b) and 38-77.1 of <br />the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, pertaining to charges for. sewage dis- <br />posal and treatment and emergency surcharge thereto. <br /> <br /> This ordinance will increase the sewage maintenance fee by 6g, from the current rate <br />of 32¢ per 1,000 gallons to 38~ per 1,000 gallons of water consumed. The ordinance also <br />increases, the sewage treatment fee from the current rate of 69.33¢ per 1,000 gallons to 85{ <br />per 1,000 gallons of water consumed. In addition the ordinance will reduce the e~ergency <br />drought surcharge on sewage maintenance by 6¢, from the current rate of <br />of 6¢ per 1,000 gallons of water consumed.
