July 14, 1981 <br /> <br />Provide a tentative schedule of milestone events with a projected completion <br />date after Project approval. <br /> <br /> (c} Provide ample assurance that real property revenues will be realized upon <br /> completion of the proposed Project. <br /> <br /> (d) Provide a list of objections pertaining to the proposed Project from any <br /> involved group and a list of unresolved problems. <br /> <br />THAT, the Federation request Citi Council review th proposed Pro~'ect and resolve listed <br />objections and problems prior to Council's approval of the Pro~ect. <br /> <br />THAT, the Federation send a letter, with a copy of this resolution, to every civlc <br />oriented organization within our city, requesting their endorsement and cooperation <br />in our stated objectives. Signed by ~ary B. Shanks, President Federation of Civic <br />Clubs, Portsmouth, Virginia" <br /> <br /> 81-260 Gilbert W. Ronco, 13 W. Roberts Court, spoke concerning noise in the rear of <br />his property created by large trucks delivering to Big Star on Portsmouth Boulevard and <br />requested that an ordinance be enacted to protect the residents from such health hazard. <br /> <br /> 81-261 - Andrew T. Jones, Jr., 2204 Fredsrick Boulevard, re~resenting Jones Bus Company, <br />Inc., spoke concerning the fencing of a lot located on Gust Lane and moving .a trailer on the <br />lot that would give him squatter's rights; and asked that the building permit be waived due <br />to hardship, then he be allowed to move on the lot. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, the matter be referred to the City Manager <br />for review and a report be furnished, giving alternatives ho~"~o so,'ye the problem, and was <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 81-262 David Notand, 700 Westmoreland Avenue, Westhaven property owner, recommended <br />that PRHA drop the appeal suit on the Westhaven/Simonsdale subsidized housing and have'ap- <br />propriate space a~ailabe for citizens to attend meetings. Other comments were made that were <br />inappropriate to Council and individuals. <br /> <br /> Mr. Oast stated that the personal attacks that were made are improper speech to be ~ad: <br />at this podium and anf public meeting. ~ <br /> <br /> 81-263 - Motion of Mr. Beamer and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to go into an executive sessicn <br />for the purpose of discussing the following, and was adopted by unanimous vote: <br /> <br /> (A) USE OF PUBLIC PROPERTY <br /> <br />(1) Proposed Acquisition, Sale and Use <br /> of Property <br />(2) Waterfront Development <br />(3) ~ndustrial Development <br /> <br />(B) LEGAL MATTERS <br /> <br />(1) Litigation <br />(2) Contracts <br />(3) Council Procedures <br /> <br />(C) PERSONNEL <br /> <br />(1) A Personnel Matter <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br />APPROVED -~ <br /> <br /> <br />
