Thompson of <br /> the Portsmouth Baptist Association. <br /> <br /> Rev. Robert G. Thompson, 5606 Darby Close, representing Portsmouth Baptist Association, <br />stated that the request for the use permit was for the purpose of providing a place for bible <br />study and asked Council to approve the use permit. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr.: Gray, to concur in the recommendation of <br />the Planning Commission, UP 81-11 be approved on first reading upon conditions agreed to by <br />the petitioner and the Planning st~ff, to ope.ratea house of worship on property zoned Com- <br />mercial C-3 and located on the north side of High Street, east of Green Street, and was <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />(g) Use Permit UP 81-13 <br /> <br />Petition of Pentecostal Workers of Christ, by Pastor James H. <br />Coppage. <br /> <br />Pastor James H. Coppage, spoke in support of the petition. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, to concur in the recommendation of <br />the Planning Commission, UP 81-13 be approved on first reading for expansion of the Church <br />on land zoned Commercial C-2 and located at the southwest corner of Deep Creek BouleVard and <br />Evergreen Place, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Ch] PROPOSED AMENDMEN~ <br /> <br />TO THE CITY CODE: <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Beamer and seconded by <br />Planning Commission, amendment to Sectio~ <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Section 40-71(b) pertaining to Commercial <br />C-2 uses by the following addition: Convalescen <br />and nursing homes. <br /> <br />Mrs. Webb, to concur in the recommendation of the <br />40-7t(b) be approved on first reading, and was <br /> <br />81-291 GHP 81-3 CYPRESS COVE VILLAS, PHASE IV <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to concur with the recommendation of the <br />City At~ey, that GHP 81-3 be advertised and be brought back to Council after that time <br />as requi~ed by law, and was adopted by 4-0-1 (Barnes-abstaining) vote. <br /> <br />81-29D (d) Zoning Petition Z 81-9 was taken from the table. <br /> <br /> On motion Z 81-9 be approved on first reading , concurring with the recommendation of <br />the Planning Commission, the following ordinance temporarily rezoning property on the south <br />side of Crawford Parkway from Residential R-60-A to Waterfront W-1-K Conditional was adopted <br />by unanimous vote: ' <br /> <br />"ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 81-9" <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />City Cler <br /> <br /> <br />
