7. 1-264 Exit:Ramp - New exit ramp westbound k264 to Elmhurst Lane and closure of existing westbound ramp at Greenwood Drive/' Ayes: Berm, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley Nays: None 01 - 212 - Adoption of a motion to transfer $104,093 from the Grants Contingency Account to fund the USDA Summer Food Program. An estimated 1095 meals per day (breakfasts and lunches) will be served at twelve sites throughout the City from July 2nd through August 15th for youths in Iow-income communities. No local match is required. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to transfer $104,093 from the Grants Contingency Account to fund the USDA Summer Food Program, and was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Berm, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley Nays: None - New Business - 01 - 213 - Boards and Commissions There were no appointments. 01 - 214 - Items Submitted by Council Members > Councilman Whitehurst reflected on various newspaper articles he found to be offensive. > Vice Mayor reflected on ribbon cuttings and the past week's activities. 01 -215 - Non-Agenda Speakers 1. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, spoke on Portsmouth under five flags. 3. Linwood E. Powell, 2672 Barclay Avenue, spoke on sewer improvements in his neighborhood. 4. Louis Whitehead, 4415 County Street, spoke on street improvements to Winchester Drive. 5. Vanessa Fields, 1513 Summit Avenue, spoke on street improvements to Summit Avenue.
