April 13, 1982 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has agreed to pay the sum of <br /> Three Thousand, Five Hundred Thirty Dollars ($3,530.) for the transfer of said property. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that <br />the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey the hereinafter-described property <br />to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, to-wit: <br /> <br /> All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, with the buildings and <br /> improvements thereon, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> being more particularly bounded and described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at the northeast corner of South and Washington Streets; and from <br /> thence running east along South Street SO' to the line of the land now or form- <br /> erly belonging to William Brooks; thence N 113'; thence W 50'; thence South <br /> along Washington Street 1OO' to the Point of Beginning. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute <br />such deeds and other documents as may be necessary to complete this transaction." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Beamer, Gray, Oast, Webb, Whitlow <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> 82-131 "Consideration of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to convey City-owned <br />property to the Portsmouth Industrial Development Authority (west side of Reed Avenue extended <br /> <br /> A firm currently leasing space in Portsmouth is interested in acquiring property in the <br />Hattonsville section for industrial development. Fhe transfer of this propez~)- to Portsmouth <br />Industrial Development Authority will facilitate the acquisition of the necessary land for <br />this company in order that they may construct their own facility in Portsmouth The City <br />Manager recommends adoption.'
