Johnston, Jr., Charles W. Smith, and Diane G. Winston to be reappointed for a te~m of three years, ending July 31, 1986. School Board Helen Hampton Jones, Dr. Floyd C. Miller, Jr., and John W. Shuler to be reappointed for a term of three years, ending July 1, 1986. Tidewater Regional Group Home Commission T. E. Masters, Jr. to be reappointed for a term of four years, ending July 1, 1987. Southeastern Virginia Areawide Model Program (SEVAMP) Mrs. Polly Clarke to fill an unexpired term~¢: expiring September 23, 1984; replacing Mrs. Sherwood Schnitzer who resigned. Craney Island Study Commission Benjamin J. Levy and J. Michael Sasser to be reappointed for a term of four years, ending July 1,1987. Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to close nominations and ~here being no further nominations, the above members to be elected to the designated Boardg/Commissions, and was adopted by unanimous vote. ~ouncil~eman Webb suggested ~hat in view of Youth City Government Day ~eing~smch a~,succes that a Youth Advisory Committee be reactivated~ 83-241 - On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, the following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE SHIPYARD MUSEUM FOR DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE WHEREAS, The Friends of the Portsmouth Naval FRIENDS OF THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. Shipyard 5{useum was organized in October of 1962 to promote, support and encourage public interest in the programs of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum through service, contributions and education; and WHEREAS, "The Friends" supplements the staff of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum and have given over 40,100 service hours welcoming 780,675 guests since January of 1963 from all states and 4S foreign countries; and WHEREAS, "The Friends" have operated a gift shop at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum and used the money derived therefrom to benefit the Museum and further its programs; and WHEREAS, "The Friends" have given of their time, talents and funds for the enhancement o~ the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum, thus, providing a hospitable and friendly atmosphere on behalf of the City of Portsmouth and i~s citizens for the many visitors to the Portsmouth Nays Shipyard Museum.
