<br />Mayor Johansen welcomed all visitors in attendance.

<br /> Motion of Mr. Beamer and seconded by Mrs. Webb, ~the minutes of the called meeting of
<br />June 28, 1983; and minutes of the regular meeting of June 28, 1983, to be approved as receive~
<br />and was adopted by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Johansen recognized two summer interns, Dean Jones of Norfolk State University and
<br />Abdulah Fattah of Norfolk State University, who are working for the City for a~,p~riod of ten
<br />weeks.
<br />
<br /> 83-264 - Mayor Johansen presented paperweights to Connie A. Mabus and Terri L. Pfeiffer,
<br />Troop 299, Girl Scouts of America, having received the highest honor in Girl Scouting, the
<br />"Gold Award".
<br />
<br /> 83-265 - Certificates of Appreciation were presented~by Mayor Johansen to Rev. Emory E.
<br />Byrum of the Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals; Vincent A. Skeeter of the Manpower
<br />Commission; Franklin T. House of Commuhity Services Board; Jacquie B. McCready of Parks and
<br />Recreation Commission; KentilB. Johnson, Jr,~o~ Commission of Architectural Review, for their
<br />services rendered.'

<br />R-75-K, was approved on first reading by unanimous vote:
