Sears to be appointed to fill an unexpired term, ending 7/1/84, vacancy <br />created by the resignatmon of Truman L. Nester, Jr. <br /> <br />Parking Authority <br /> <br /> Dr. James C. Sears to be appointed to Eill an unexpired term, ending 7/1/84, vacancy <br />created by the resignation of Truman L. Hester, Jr. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Whitlow and <br />£urthefU~om~ations, the above <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />seconded by Mr. Gray, <br />member was elected to <br /> <br />to close ndminations and there being no <br />the designated Board/Commission, and <br /> <br /> 84-145 - On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the following resolution <br />was adopted, and b) the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE FOR THE CONSIDE~kTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE 1984-85 OPERATING BUDGET, THE IMPOSITION AND LEVYING OF TAXES AND FEES <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF KAISING REVENUE FOR THE SUPPORT OF GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS <br />AND THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND GENERAL REVENUE SHARING. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That a special meeting of the City Council was held on April 24, 1984 at 2:30 p.m., <br />Sixth Floor, City Hall, for the purpose of holding a budget work session. <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> 2. That a special meeting of the City Council will be held on May 3, 1984,/at T.A. Willet <br />Auditorium at Woodrow Wilson High School for the purpose of a public hearing on the 19~4-85 <br />operating budget, the imposition and levying of taxes and fees for the purpose of raising <br />revenue for the support of governmental operations and the public schools and general revenue <br />sharing. <br /> <br /> 3. That a special meeting of the City Council will be held on May 15, 1984 at 7:00 p.m. <br />in the Council Chambers, Sixth Floor, City Hall for the purpose of final adoption of a 1984-85 <br />operating budget, the imposition and levyin~ of taxes and fees for the purpose of raising <br />revenue for the support of governmental operations and public schools, and general revenue <br />sharing and such other matters as may be deemed appropriate." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Beamer, Gray, Holley, Webb, Whitlow, Johansen <br />Nays: Ncne <br /> <br /> 84-146 J.
