<br /> 84-170 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of the following ordinanses
<br />as included in the recommended operating budget for 1984-85:

<br />Senior Citizens and disabled tax relief income levels are recommended to be
<br />changed to permit greater participation and to catch uo with historical in-
<br />flationary pressures. The income level required to have 100t exemption is
<br />being raised from 23,500 to $5,000 and the maximum to be eligible for relief
<br />is resommended to be raised from $8,800 to $10,000.

<br />that being charged by the Hampton Roads Sanitation District.

<br />Golf fees at City Park are recommended to be increased o~ both weekends and
<br />weekdays by 50~. Portsmouth Sleepy Hole Golf Course fees are recommended
<br />to increase ~ on weekdays and $1 on weekends. I am also recommending that
<br />cart rental fees increase 50~ for nnine holes and $1.00 for 18 holes bringing
<br />these rates to $5.80 and $11.00 respectively. These modest increases will bring
<br />the schedule into alignment with comparable public courses in the area.

<br />The FY 1985 Classification and Pay Plan which establishes the pay ranges and
<br />classifications of all employees, as well as setting the procedures for adminis-
<br />tering the plan, has been u~dated to reflect the operating budget and its
<br />modifications.

<br /> These items complete the package to set in place the operating budget beginning July 1,
<br />1984. I recommend to you their adoption."
