<br />a refund of ~59.50 without interest is requested.

<br />telephone system franchise for the City of Portsmouth.

<br /> "On November 13, 1984, the Council adopted a resolution inviting bids for a franchise
<br />to use the streets and other public places of the City for poles¢ wires, conduits, cables
<br />and fixtures necessary for the operatmon of a telephone system. The resolution, in accordance
<br />with State law, was advertised once a week for four successive weeks in the newspaper, and
<br />invited bids for the franchise to be delivered ~n writing to the presideing officer, ~n open
<br />session, at the City Council Meeting of December 11, 1984.
<br />
<br /> An ordinance granting the franchise ms enclosed for your perusal, and if an acceptable
<br />bid is received, I would recommend that the Council adopt same granting the franchise to the
<br />successful bidder."

<br />The following Bid Bond Certificate was presented:
