Corprew, Jr., J. Robert Gray, <br />L. Louise Lucas, Gloria O. Webb, Morton V. Whitlow, George L. Hanbury, City Manager, <br />Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Rev. Kenneth B. King, Pastor of Port Norfolk Baptist Church, opened the meeting with <br />prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Mayor Holley welcomed all visitors in attendance. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Beamer, m~nutes of the called meeting of gannary; <br />22, 1985; minutes of the regular meeting of January 22, 1985; m~nutes of the called meeting <br />of January 29, 1985; and minutes of the special meeting of January 30, 1985, to be approved <br />as received, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 85-~0 - Mayor Holley presented Certfficates of Appreciation for services rendered to the <br />Jeffrey.~afrenton, Martha F. Glover, Rev. Kenneth E. King, Bishop Thomas E. Talley, former <br />members of the Study Committe on Church Properties; J. Douglas Powell, Chairman, Kirk Berkeley <br />Dan E. Griffin, Herbert E. Robertson, Jr., Mary B. Shanks, Charles T. Levy, spoke in support of Z 85-1 and Z 85-2. <br /> <br /> Joseph Knight, 4820 Portsmouth Boulevard, that if the area in question was considered a <br />part of the Simonsdale area, that the residents of Simonsdale disapprove of the rezoning. <br /> <br /> Otis E. Baldwin, 404 Tarenyton Lane, stated that Mr. Levy did not contact him as presSd~m~ <br />of the Park Manor Civic League. Mr. Levy stated that he had contacted Buddy Sharne. <br /> <br /> George Eberwine, 2516 Sterling Point Drive, 6_en~wal>Pa~_ner.o&~tnaeHayF~agatAp~rtments, <br />5100 Block of Portsmouth Boulevard, spoke in support of the application. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Whitlo~ and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to concur in the recommendation of the <br />Planning Commission, to rezone for multi-family housing on property located at SS0- Portsmouth <br />Boulevard from Residential R-75 to Residential R-60, and the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 85-1" '~ <br /> <br />(b) Zoning Petition Z 85-2 <br /> <br />Rezoning application of Manor Green Associates, by <br />Benjamin J.
