March 12, 1985 NEW BUSINESS 85-78 Councilman Beamer offered the following nominations for appointments to the following Boards'Commissions: Emergency Medical Services Advisory Commission Dr. Steven J. Zahller to be appointed to served an unexpired term, ending July 31, 1985; replacing Robert B. Conroy, Jr. Transportation Safety Commission A. A. Thereault to be appointed to served an unexpired term, ending November 1, 1987; replacing A. A. Pope. Motion of Mr. Beamer and seconded by Mrs. no further nominations, the above members were and was adopted by unanimous vote. Webb, to close nominations and there being elected to the designated Boards/Commissions, 85-?9 Lewis %homas, 131 Florida Avenue, spoke concerning the length of time it is taking to complete the work of the overpass on the Martin Luther King Freeway and ask that the City contact the Virginia Department of Highways ~ Transportation to see what can be done Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Whitlow, to receive as information and that the City Manager look into the matter, that a report be furnished to Council and a copy be sent to Mr. Thomas, and was adopted by unanimous vote. 85-80 Councilman Corprew requested that a report b&'furnished on the following: 1. Progress report on the railroad crossings with regards to tie-ups. 2. Requirements for public restrooms in convenient stores. Requested a structured report of the total Ei±y~emptoyment; broken down by race and gender. (EEO) 85-81 Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to go into an executive session for the purpose of discussing the following, and was adopted by unanimous vote: (1) Use, Sale, or Acquisition of Public Property (2) Consultation and Briefing on Legal Matters including Contracts and Litigation (3) A Personnel Matter (4) Boards and Commissions On motion meeting adjourned.
