378 <br /> <br />March 26, 1985 <br /> <br /> Eastern Virginia Medical Authority <br /> <br /> Herbert K. Bangel to be reappointed for a term of three years, expiring May 31, 1988. <br /> <br /> Moti~ of Mr. Beamer and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to close nominations and there be no <br />further nominations, the above members were elected to the designated Boards/Commissions, and <br />was adopted by 6-1(Nay-Lucas) vote. <br /> <br /> 85-83 Percy E. Burnett, Jr., P. O. Box 3344, Portsmouth, representing Ebony Heights <br />Civic League, requested additional 5 minutes £or his presentation. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Beamer, that Mr. Burnett be granted an additional <br />5 minutes, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Mr. Burnett presented the following issues of concern for the Ebony community: <br /> <br /> 1. Traffic light at West Norfolk Rnad and Tyre Neck Road desperately needed at the <br /> intersection. <br /> 2. Speed limit signs and radar be placed in the community. <br /> 3. Proper drainage needed for the area. <br /> 4. Trees need to be removed in the 5900 Block ~f Dunk~rklStreet that are presenting~a~ <br /> traffic hazard; when trees removed let them be utilized by the elderly for firewooS~ <br /> 5. Make needed repairs to the streets in the area by regrading, widening and repaying <br /> the streets. <br /> 6. Lights for the playground and park areas which had been promised but never installed. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Corprew and seconed by Mrs. Lucas, that the City Manager report back on <br /> and was <br /> <br />these matters and to take action on any items for which funds are currently budgeted, <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 85-84 - Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to go into an executive <br />the purpose of discussing the following, and was adopted by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />session for <br /> <br />(1) Use, Sale, or Acquisition of Public Property <br />(2) Consultation and Briefing on Legal Matters <br /> including Contracts and Litigation <br />(3) A Personnel Matter <br />(4) Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br />APPROVED -~ <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
