<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and
<br />approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 10 proposes to designate additional properties as
<br />"To Be Acquired"; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the
<br />provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended,
<br />including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, religion, familial
<br />status, handicap, sex or national origin; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council, it is in the interest of the City and its
<br />inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br /> 1. That regarding Amendment No. 10 to the Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Project, it is hereby found:
<br />
<br />(a)
<br />
<br />That the objectives of the Park View Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better
<br />achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan.
<br />
<br />(b)
<br />
<br />That Amendment No. 10 meets the requirements of a plan for a
<br />conservation and redevelopment project pursuant to Chapter 1 of
<br />Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended.
<br />
<br /> 2. That Amendment No. 10 to the Park View Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Plan for the Park View Conservation and Redevelopment Project,
<br />having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and adopted and the
<br />City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this
<br />meeting."

<br />CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE CRAWFORD URBAN

<br /> WHEREAS, this Council by resolution adopted August 1,
<br />Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and
<br />
<br />1967, approved a
<br />Renewal Project,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and
<br />approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area; which Plan consists of 18
<br />pages and 4 exhibits (Amendment No. 31); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 31 proposes to designate additional properties as
<br />"To Be Acquired"; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the
<br />provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended,
<br />including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, religion, familial
