<br />2. That Amendment No. 1 to the Park View Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Plan for the West Park View Conservation and Redevelopment Project,
<br />having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and adopted and the
<br />City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this
<br />meeting."

<br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following
<br />resolutions and ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote:

<br />"A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO THE SHEA TERRACE
<br />CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE SHEA TERRACE
<br />CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council, by resolution adopted October 28, 1997, approved a
<br />Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Shea Terrace Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia (Plan); and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has been presented to this body for consideration and
<br />approval, a copy of an amended Plan for the project area; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Amendment No. 3 proposes to designate additional properties as
<br />"To Be Acquired"; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the
<br />provisions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended,
<br />including those prohibiting discrimination because of race, age, color, religion, familial
<br />status, handicap, sex or national origin; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council, it is in the interest of the City and its
<br />inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br /> 1. That regarding Amendment No.
<br />Redevelopment Project, it is hereby found:
<br />
<br />3 to the Conservation and
<br />
<br />(a)
<br />
<br />That the objectives of the Shea Terrace Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Project, Portsmouth, Virginia, can be better
<br />achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the Plan.
<br />
<br />(b)
<br />
<br />That Amendment No. 3 meets the requirements of a plan for a
<br />conservation and redevelopment project pursuant to Chapter 1 of
<br />Title 36 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended.
<br />
<br /> 2. That Amendment No. 3 to the Shea Terrace Conservation and
<br />Redevelopment Plan for the Shea Terrace Conservation and Redevelopment Project,
<br />having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved and adopted and the
<br />City Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of said Amendment with the minutes of this
<br />meeting."
