<br /> 85-189 Letter from the City Manager recommending the adoption of a resolution to
<br />appoint viewers closing a portion of Little John Road, deferred from the regular meeting of
<br />May 28, 1985.
<br />
<br /> "Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made appl,ication to close a portion
<br />of Little John Road.
<br />
<br /> The attached resolution appoints viewers in accordance with applicable State law to revie
<br />the portion of such street and to report to the Planning Commission if any inconvenience would
<br />result in closing that portion of Little John Road.
<br />
<br /> I, therefore, concur and recommend the adoption of the attached resolution."
<br />
<br /> On mOtion of Mr. Gmay and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the following resolution was adopted,
<br />and by the following vote:
<br />
<br /> "A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING OF A PORTION OF LITTLE JOHN ROAD."
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment & Ho~sing Authority has made application to vacate,
<br />close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Little John Road, and it appearing
<br />that notice of application and request for the appointment of viewers was duly advertised as
<br />required by law.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by ~he Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that
<br />A. N. Kendrick, James Moss, Clinton J. Fortune, Matthew L. Peanort and L. A. Clark be appointe
<br />viewers and that James H. Griffin and Howard L. Davis be appointed alternate'viewers in the
<br />event one of the preceding viewers fails to participate, said viewers to view the hereinafter-
<br />described portion of such street and to report to this Council in writing whether in their
<br />opinio~ any, and if any what, inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the following
<br />
