<br />August 25, 2026 <br /> <br />26-195i: <br /> <br />Adoption of an ordinance accepting Jail Diversion funding in the amount of $50,451 <br />from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and <br />appropriating said amount in the FY 2027 Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund for <br />use by BHS to expand Jail Diversion Program efforts. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />PBHS has received Jail Diversion funding in the amount of $50,451 from the <br />● <br />Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), Office <br />of Forensic Services for the period of performance July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. <br />The Jail Diversion program provides services to individuals with severe mental <br />● <br />illness and/or co-occurring disorders and links them to community-based behavioral <br />health services. This funding will be used to expand those diversion efforts. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The amendment sets the term of the agreement as July 1, 2026 through June 30, <br />● <br />2027, and sets DBHDS funding at $50,451 for the period of performance. <br />Funds are disbursed by DBHDS through a warrant payment schedule. The <br />● <br />Department may, at its discretion, modify payment dates or amounts, and may withhold <br />future distributions if the CSB has not fully expended funds disbursed in the prior fiscal <br />year. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />A local match of funds in the amount of 10% is required as a condition of the <br />● <br />funding, which match has previously been appropriated in the FY 2027 Behavioral <br />Healthcare Service Fund. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br />Adoption of the ordinance.
