Strategic Pillar #4: Safe, Connected, and Thriving <br />Community. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> The Finance Department will make the appropriate budget adjustments. <br /> <br /> Addendum No. 1 to MOA FY26-037 will be executed by BHS and the City <br />Manager. <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING $30,248 FROM THE VIRGINIA CRISIS INTERVENTION <br />TEAM COALITION AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2026 <br />BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE SERVICE FUND FOR USE BY BHS FOR TRAINING, <br />PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND STAKEHOLDER RECOGNITION <br />ACTIVITIES.” <br /> <br />26-132n: <br /> <br />Adoption of an ordinance accepting $59,498.61 from the Western Tidewater <br />Community Services Board and appropriating said amount in the FY 2026 <br />Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund for use by BHS for data system modernization. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The Western Tidewater Community Services Board serves as the Regional Fiscal <br /> <br />Agent for Region 5 and has received additional state funding for data modernization. <br /> <br /> The Western Tidewater CSB has distributed Portsmouth’s net share of the funding <br /> <br />($59,498.61) to BHS. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> BHS will use the funding for CSB data system modernization, including costs <br />associated with transitioning data systems and clinical processes as required under the <br />STEP-VA initiative. <br /> <br /> Allowable uses include system implementation costs, data infrastructure activities, <br />and related projects. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> The Behavioral Healthcare Services Fund Budget will be increased by $59,498.61. <br /> <br />No local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance.
