<br /> On November 20, 2023, the City received an additional disbursement of
<br />Settlement Funds in the amount of $23,849.79, which was accepted and appropriated
<br />through City Council ordinance 2023-128 adopted on December 12, 2023.

<br /> On April 22, 2024, the City received additional disbursements of Settlement Funds
<br />in the total amount of $480,713.26 (consisting of individual checks in the amounts of
<br />$45,603.19, $30,261.57, $27,349.03, $28,960.59, $43,875.24, $38,144.92, and
<br />$266,518.72), which were accepted and appropriated through City Council ordinance
<br />2024-49 adopted on May 28, 2024.

<br /> In August 2024, the City received additional disbursements of Settlement Funds in
<br />the total amount of $194,086.72 (consisting of individual checks in the amounts of
<br />$30,281.47, $29,785.31, 30,411.07, and $103,608.87), which were accepted and
<br />appropriated through City Council ordinance 2024-90 adopted on September 10, 2024.

<br /> In September 2024, the City received an additional disbursement of Settlement
<br />Funds in the amount of $80,303.78, which was accepted and appropriated through City
<br />Council ordinance 2024-107 adopted on October 8, 2024.

<br /> In October 2024, the City received an additional disbursement of Settlement Funds
<br />in the amount of $41,739.20, which was accepted and appropriated through City Council
<br />ordinance 2024-116 adopted on November 12, 2024.

<br /> In April 2025, the City received an additional disbursement of Settlement Funds in
<br />the amount of $28,960.59, which was accepted and appropriated through City Council
<br />ordinance 2025-34 adopted on May 27, 2025.

<br /> In June 2025, the City received two additional settlement disbursements of
<br />Settlement Funds, each in the amount of $12,366.81, for a total disbursement of
<br />$24,733.62, which was accepted and appropriated through City Council ordinance 2025-
<br />53 adopted on July 8, 2025.

<br /> In August 2025, the City received an additional disbursement of Settlement Funds
<br />in the amount of $30,281.47, which was accepted and appropriated through City Council
<br />ordinance 2025-63 adopted on August 26, 2025.

<br /> In August 2025, the City also received additional disbursements of Settlement
<br />Funds in the total amount of $194,168.12 (consisting of individual checks in the amounts
<br />of $29,785.31, $60,773.94, and $103,608.87), which were accepted and appropriated
<br />through City Council ordinance 2025-71 adopted on September 9, 2025.

<br /> In December 2025, the City received additional disbursements of Settlement
<br />Funds in the total amount of $269,765.39 (consisting of sixteen individual checks in the
<br />amounts of $6,731.46, $5,366.66, $5,792.12, $5,792.12, $8,775.05, $9,116.34,
<br />$9,928.44, $88,839.57, $2,473.36, $2,473.36, $10,087.19, $10,093.82, $10,093.82,
<br />$9,928.44, $15,201.06, and $69,072.58). These disbursements were accepted and
<br />appropriated through City Council ordinance 2026-09 adopted on January 13, 2026.

<br /> In March 2026, the City received an additional disbursement of Settlement Funds
<br />in the amount of $28,960.59. This disbursement was accepted and appropriated by City
<br />Council Ordinance 2026-32 adopted on April 14, 2026.
<br />
<br /> In May 2026, the City received additional disbursements of Settlement Funds in
<br />the total amount of $41,327.40 (consisting of individual checks in the amounts of
<br />$12,366.81 and $28,960.59).
<br />
<br /> It is necessary for City Council to accept and appropriate these additional
<br />disbursements.
<br />
<br /> The Settlement MOU requires the City to use the Settlement Funds for “Approved
<br />Abatement Purposes”, which it defines as: “efforts to treat, prevent, or reduce opioid use
<br />disorder or the misuse of opioids or to otherwise abate or remediate the opioid
<br />epidemic…”. Specific examples of Approved Abatement Purposes are described in
<br />Section (C)(4)(a) through (j) of the Settlement MOU.
<br />
<br /> The proposed ordinance appropriates the $41,327.40 allocation of Settlement
<br />Funds to the Department of Behavioral Healthcare Services for use for Approved
<br />Abatement Purposes.
