Eligible expenses under the grant will be <br />reimbursed by the Commonwealth in accordance with the terms and conditions of the <br />grant. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> A local match in the amount of 10% is required as a condition of the grant, which <br />match has previously been appropriated to the FY 2026 Behavioral Healthcare Service <br />Fund. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. Strategic Pillar #4: Safe, Connected, and Thriving <br />Community. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> The Finance Department will make the appropriate budget adjustments. <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500,000 FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL <br />SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2026 BEHAVIORAL <br />HEALTHCARE SERVICE FUND FOR ADULT COMPETENCY RESTORATION <br />SERVICES.” <br /> <br />26-99g: <br /> <br />Adoption of an ordinance accepting funding in the amount of $50,000 from the <br />Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and <br />appropriating said funds in the FY 2026 Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund for <br />developmental disabilities support services. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The Portsmouth Department of Behavioral Healthcare Services (BHS) has <br />received a grant in the amount of $50,000 from the Virginia Department of Behavioral <br />Health and Developmental Services for developmental disabilities support services. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The funds will be used to pay for a Developmental Disabilities Support Coordinator <br />(Case Manager) position. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> A local match in the amount of 10% is required as a condition of the grant, which <br />match has previously been appropriated to the FY 2026 Behavioral Healthcare Service <br />Fund. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance.
