Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, 2713 Sterling Point Drive, voiced his opposition to funding <br /> stipends for those in the Supplemental Retirement Systems. <br /> <br />2. Sergio Neal, 1420 Elm Avenue, encouraged citizens be proactive in researching how <br /> and where funds are being spent during the budget process. . <br /> <br />Councilman Moody read the following statement: <br /> <br />“In order to participate in the discussion and vote on Agenda item (f) I am making <br />the following disclosure in accordance with the Virginia Conflict of Interests Act: <br /> <br />(1) The matter under consideration provides for a $1,500 payment to retirees. <br /> <br />(2) I am a member of the Portsmouth Supplemental Retirement System. <br /> <br />(3) The Portsmouth Supplemental Retirement System is composed of hundreds of <br />current and past City employees and officers. <br /> <br />(4) I am able to participate in the discussion and vote on this matter fairly, objectively, <br />and in the public interest.” <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $584,851,511 FOR THE OPERATION OF CITY <br />GOVERNMENT DURING THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2025.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Bryant, Dodson, Hugel, Moody, Thomas, Tillage, Glover <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />25 - 127 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />25 - 128 - Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />a. Adoption of a resolution granting a one-year extension of Use Permit UP-22-22 for <br />construction and operation of a two-building multifamily dwelling development having not <br />to exceed 39 total dwelling units at 2216 and 2220 Waldron Avenue (tax parcels 0465- <br />0380 and 0465-0390). <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Hugel, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following resolution <br />and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“RESOLUTION GRANTING A ONE-YEAR EXTENSION OF USE PERMIT UP-22-22 <br />FOR CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A TWO-BUILDING MULTIFAMILY <br />DWELLING DEVELOPMENT HAVING NOT TO EXCEED 39 TOTAL DWELLING <br />UNITS AT 2216 AND 2220 WALDRON AVENUE (TAX PARCELS 0465-0380 AND <br />0465-0390). <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , by Resolution R-23-16 adopted on March 14, 2023, City Council <br />granted Use Permit UP-22-22 for construction and operation of a two-building multifamily <br />dwelling development having not to exceed 39 total dwelling units at 2216 and 2220 <br />Waldron Avenue (Tax Parcels 0465-0380 and 0465-0390); and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
