November 14, 2023 <br /> <br /> <br /> The City’s required match funding for Revenue Sharing projects is appropriated by <br />City Council under the Drainage and Street Improvements category of the Capital <br />Improvement Fund Budget. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> The Resolution will be submitted to VDOT. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Lucas-Burke, and seconded by Mr. Hugel, to adopt the following <br />resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH’S COMMITMENT TO <br />FUND THE LOCALITY SHARE OF PROJECTS UNDER AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PROVIDING SIGNATURE <br />AUTHORITY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Portsmouth is a recipient of Virginia Department of <br />Transportation funds under various grant programs for transportation-related projects; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Virginia Department of Transportation requires each locality, by <br />resolution, to provide assurance of its commitment to funding its local share; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that: <br /> <br /> 1. The City hereby commits to fund its local share of preliminary engineering, <br />right-of-way, and construction (as applicable) of the project\[s\] under agreement with the <br />Virginia Department of Transportation in accordance with the project financial documents; <br />and <br /> <br /> 2.
