November 14, 2023 <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services <br />awarded $16,065 of one-time funding for residential support. These funds will be utilized <br />at a customized rate intended to help in facilitating support for individuals diagnosed with <br />an intellectual or developmental disability. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> <br /> No local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> The Finance Department will make the necessary budget adjustments. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Tillage, and seconded by Ms. Lucas-Burke, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY RESIDENTIAL <br />SUPPORT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,065 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2024 BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE <br />SERVICE FUND TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS DIAGNOSED WITH AN <br />INTELLECTUAL OR DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Hugel, Lucas-Burke, Moody, Tillage, Whitaker, Glover <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />23 - 367 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting Problem Gambling Prevention <br />Program funding in the amount of $25,280 from the Virginia Department of <br />Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and appropriating said amount in <br />the FY 2024 Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund to provide problem gambling <br />prevention services. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The Problem Gambling Prevention Program intends to prevent and minimize harm <br />from the expansion of legalized gambling by implementing the Strategic Prevention <br />Framework (SPF) planning model. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services <br />awarded $25,280 of funding to the Portsmouth Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services for problem gambling prevention services. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> <br /> No additional local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The Finance Department will make the necessary budget adjustments. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Tillage, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
