<br /> 86-9 - The following ordinance approved on first reading at the regular meeting of
<br />January 14, 1986, was taken up and read:
<br />
<br />'AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $3,600,000 FROM PHE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND
<br />FOR THE 1986 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mrs. Webb, the ordinance was adopted on final
<br />reading, and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />Ayes: Beamer, CorFrew, Gray, Lucas, Webb, Whitlow, Holley
<br />Nays: Ncne
<br />
<br /> 86-10 The following ordinance approved on first reading at the regular meeting of
<br />January 14, 1986, was taken up and read:
<br />
<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $210,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br />THE LOCATION STUDY AND DESIGN OF THE NEW NAVAL MUSEUM."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, the ordinance was adopted on final
<br />reading, and by the following yore:
<br />
<br />Ayes: Beamer, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Webb, Whitlow, Holley
<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br /> 86-14 Resolution requesting that Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority deter-
<br />mine whether those areas of the City designated as Port Norfolk, Prentis Park, Brighton, Ebony
<br />Heights, West Park View and East Park View are eligible for conservation plans as provided
<br />in Section 36-49.1, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, deferred from the regular meeting of
<br />January 14, 1986, was presented.

<br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Beamer, the following resolution was adopted,
<br />and bv the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT 5 HOUSING AUTHORITY
<br />DETERMINE WHETHER THOSE AREAS OF THE CITY DESIGNATED AS PORT NORFOLK, PRENTIS
<br />PARK, BRIGHTON, EBONY HEIGHTS, WEST PARK VIEW AND EAST PARK VIEW ARE ELISIBLE
<br />FOR CONSERVATEO~PLANS AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 36-49.1, CODE OF VIRGINIA, 1950,
<br />AS ~MENDED.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the
<br />may be eligible for conservation
<br />as amended; and
<br />
<br />City of Portsmouth recognizes that certain areas of the City
<br />plans as provided in Section 36-49.1, Code of Virginia, 1950
<br />
<br /> I~qEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth deems it to be in the public interest ro
<br />ensourage rehabilitation of housing pursuant to such conservation plans when applicable; and
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 36-49.1, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, Portsmouth
<br />Redevelopment ~ Housing Authority may be instructed to investigate such areas of the City to
<br />determine if such areas are eligible for a conservation plan, and to prepare such conservatio~
<br />plan.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br /> 1. That it is hereby deemed to be approprxare, and in the public interest, to determine
<br />whether those areas of the City designated as Port Norfolk, Prentis Park, Brighton, Ebony
<br />Heights, West Park View and East Park View are eligible for conservation plans as provided in
<br />Section 36-49.1, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended.
<br />
<br /> 2. That the Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority is hereby directed to investi-
<br />gate these areas of the Citx and to repair a plan for the conserva~on of each area to be
<br />known as the "conversation plan".
<br />
<br /> 3. That Portsmouth Redevelopment
<br />findings and any "conversation plans"
<br />provided by law."
<br />
<br />~ Housing Authority is further instructed to report its
<br />to this Council for approval after a public hearing as
<br />

<br /> 86-22 The following ordinance approved on first reading at the regular meeting of
<br />January 14, 1986, was taken up and read:
<br />
<br />'AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $34,670.00 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br />REPLACEMENT OF THE TENT ROOF ON THE OLDE HARBOUR MARKET."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Beamer, the ordinance was adopted on final
<br />reading, and by the following yore:
