Blachman,/505 Court Street, representing Metro Development Corporation, <br />spoke in support of Z 85-45 and GHP 85-35, and was available to anwer any questions. <br /> <br />Richard Carmichael, 723 Nottingham Road, requested an addition 5 minu~es to speak. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and secon~d, dSy Mrs. Lucas, that an additional 5 ~inutes be granted, <br />as requested, and was adopted by unanimous vo~e. <br /> <br /> Mr. Carmichael spoke in opposition of Z 85-46 and GYP 85-35, and presented the following <br />petition: <br /> <br /> 'We, the undersigned residents and voters of the City of Portsmouth are against both <br />the rezoning of Map Parcel S95-6.9 and the Group Housing Project permit as requested bv the <br />Metro Development Corporation. The requested applications are not consistent with the nature <br />of the surrounding property. Introduction of high dengity spot zoning into a neighborhood <br />which ~s predominately single family homes will adversely impact the quality of life in the <br />neighborhood in terms of noise, traffic, and property value declines.
