Without limitation, violation of any of the <br />conditions set forth herein may serve as grounds for revocation of the use permit by City <br />Council. See Section 40.2-533(L) of the Zoning Ordinance.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Hugel, Lucas-Burke, Moody, Tillage, Whitaker, Glover <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- City Manager’s Report - <br /> <br />23 - 46 - Adoption of an ordinance accepting Litter Prevention and Recycling <br />Program funds in the amount of $24,455 from the Virginia Department of <br />Environmental Quality and appropriating said funds in the FY 2023 Grants Fund for <br />use in connection with the Keep Portsmouth Beautiful program. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality provides Litter Prevention and <br />Recycling Program funding to localities. <br /> <br /> The City received an award of $24,455. <br /> <br /> This amount should be appropriated to the Grants Fund. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> This grant supports ongoing education and public outreach efforts in the <br />community to protect the environment and to help keep Portsmouth beautiful. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> No local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br /> Adoption of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Next Steps Following Council Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> The Finance Department will make the necessary budgetary adjustments. <br /> <br />1. Kennedy Community Center to “Hendricks/Kendall Recreation Center”. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> By Resolution R-2023-05 adopted on January 24, 2023, the Portsmouth City <br />Council voted to rename the John F. Kennedy Community Center located at 12 Grand <br />Street to the Hendricks/Kendall Recreation Center. The center serves as a polling <br /> <br />location. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> Precinct #21, John F. Kennedy Community Center, is located at 12 Grand Street <br /> <br />and has 1,379 voters as of January 27, 2023. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
