December 10, 2019 <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Clark, to adopt the following <br />ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />“ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER NATIONAL <br />BOARD PROGRAM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,400 FROM THE DEPARTMENT <br />OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE FY 2020 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO <br />ASSIST ELIGIBLE PORTSMOUTH CITIZENS WHO HAVE EMERGENCY FOOD, <br />SHELTER OR UTILITY NEEDS.” <br /> <br />Ayes: Battle, Clark, Glover, Lucas-Burke, Psimas, Rowe <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />19 - 459 - Adoption of a motion to implement the 2020 Calendar of City Council <br />Meetings. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> Following discussion during a work session of the City Council on November 25, <br />2019, City Council adjusted the meetings held on Mondays prior to the scheduled <br />Tuesday meetings, cancelled the fourth Tuesday meeting in August, and will have <br />Community Meetings throughout the community. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br /> This action would allow the City Council to give advance notification to the citizens, <br />media, and city departments of the amended 2020 meeting schedule. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> There is no financial impact. <br /> <br />Staff Recommends: <br /> <br /> Adoption of a motion. <br /> <br />Next Steps following City Council Action: <br /> <br /> <br /> The City Clerk will post the 2020 Meeting Calendar on the City’s webpage and <br />provide to the general public. <br /> <br />1. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, voiced his concern with the location of <br /> the retreat and the lack of consideration for a member of Council with regards to <br /> accommodations. <br /> <br />2. Donna Sayegh, 3104 Garland Drive, spoke in opposition this item. <br /> <br />Motion by Ms. Lucas-Burke, and seconded by Mr. Clark, to adopt a motion to <br />implement the 2020 Calendar of City Council Meetings, and was adopted by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Battle, Clark, Glover, Lucas-Burke, Psimas, Rowe <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />19 - 460 - Adoption of two ordinances addressing unexpended funds from the FY <br />2019 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund Budget. <br /> <br />(A) Adoption of an ordinance to re-appropriate encumbered but unexpended <br />funds from the FY 2019 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund budget in the <br />total amount of $237,202 to the FY 2020 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund <br />Budget. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
